Organic, local, allergy-friendly and central, Sicily (pronounced Si-čilý, Italo-Czech for “yes, fresh”) is a small restaurant/cafe that satisfies vegetarian, gluten-free and meat eaters alike with healthy, simple, preservative-free options. The menu includes quality 100% Arabica coffee from Italian brand 7 Gr, organic beef and buckwheat pancakes. The recycled DIY decor, complete with coffee-bag lampshades, tea-cup lamps and pallet-shelves, adds to the eco-chic vibe, and the cafe uses eco-friendly detergents, renewable energy sources, recycling and local products — plus it’s non-smoking!
“Environment was one of the most important parts of the business from the start. A lot of other restaurants in Prague also focus on quality, local food, but I don’t know of any that think so much about electricity, cleaning products, etc. I think that’s what makes us really unique.” – Tomáš Průša, co-owner
