Thai Box is a healthy and eco-friendly Thai restaurant in the center of Prague. TUK,who is both owner and chef, prepares meals every day containing fresh ingredients including Thai vegetables and herbs. She makes her own sauces and dips from scratch rather than using prepared sauces, which she says are full of preservatives, sugar and gluten. Most dishes are vegan, though a few vegeterian options are thrown in as well, using organic eggs, meat alternatives from Slovak company Foodie Goodie and fresh vegetables from smaller producers. To get that characteristic Thai sweetness in her dishes she uses natural syrups or unrefined brown sugar. This careful approach can extend the preparation time, but it’s well worth the wait.
“I cook in the open kitchen in front of the guests using quality ingredients, which I purchase myself. I am a vegetarian and I try to live healthy. The food I cook is just like what I cook at home for myself – I couldn’t do it differently! “- TUK, owner and chef of Thai Box
